Cornbread’s is dead
This is the northwest corner of Gessner and I-10, as of today.
Once, many years ago, there was a run down pool hall here by the name of Cornbread's. This was a magical place where the food was bad, the same awful eight songs came out of the jukebox, the service was lousy, the tables were unbalanced, and (most importantly) they would serve alcohol to high school kids.
The smoking ban in the city of Houston all but put an end to this place, but someone decided to finish the deed by leveling the entire strip center.
Cornbread's, you will be missed.

Aww… it’s sad
SOO many memories… I believe we switched spots a couple of times. First, they guys would get the table at the back corner, then it migrated to the front bc the boys discovered Golden Tee, and it was closer.
